This antique late Qing dynasty Chinese Export porcelain travel teapot is rendered in the traditional Rose Medallion pattern. The cylindrical pot features reserve panels containing detailed figural court scenes alternating with panels depicting perching birds, butterflies, and ripe fruit framed by gold-leaf borders. Surrounding the reserves, the background displays lush floral scrolls and tendrils over a textured green enamel ground. The palette contains vibrant shades of rose pink, emerald green, iron-red, turquoise, and yellow over a white porcelain glaze. The teapot retains its original flat inset cover with a peach-blossom finial, an unglazed base, and an overhead dual-wire bail handle tightly bound in red woven cord.
The set includes its original, custom-fitted woven wicker cozy basket designed for travel and heat retention. The exterior basket is reinforced with brass lock plates, a hinged closure, and overhead carrying handles, while the interior is lined with quilted, bright fuchsia pink silk padding to cushion the teapot.
